Monster infused cake rev. 1 - Kage med masser af Monster Energi drik (c)

This one was made for my foreign colleagues as a challenge. I only used one kind of Monster Energy drink, it could be a possibility to use different kinds of Monster for the sponge and another for the syrup.

I used the "juiced" variation - the blue one - mango loco.

I was told to patent the recipe - I guess I will not do that :)




Danish recipe below

Sponge:
2 eggs
300 g caster sugar
75 g of melted butter
300 g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonated soda
1 tsp vanilla
300 mL Monster of your choice 

Beat the eggs with the sugar. Add the melted butter. When combined, add the dry ingredients in combination with the Monster.
Put the batter into a 10 inch tin and bake for about 40 min at 180 C

While baking make a syrup from 2 cans of Monster energy drink. Reduce until all the water has evaporated, there will be approx. 150 mL. Leave to cool. you could consider using only one can depending on which Monster you use.
When the cake is baked make holes in the cake with a skewer  and pour the syrup over the cake. Leave to cool.
Make an icing out of icing sugar and Monster Energy drink. Cover the cake in the icing and it is ready to eat ( I added a small amount of orange paste colour as well).

2 æg
300 g sukker
75 g smeltet smør
300 g mel
1 tsk bagepulver
1 tsk natron
1 tsk vanille sukker
300 mL of Monster Energy drik efter eget valg

Pisk æg og sukker godt sammen. Tilsæt det smeltede smør. Tilsæt derefter de tørre ingredienser sammen med Monster drikken.
Dejen kommes i en 25 cm springform og bages ca 40 min ved 180 C

Mens kagen bager, laves der en sirup ved at koge 2 dåser Monster til en sirup. Der vil være ca 1,5 dL tilbage når al vandet er kogt ud. Lad siruppen køle lidt.
Når kagen er bagt prikkes kagen med et spyd og derefter hældes siruppen over kagen. Når kagen er afkølet laves en glasur af flormelis og Monster (jeg tilsatte også en smule orange pastafarve) og glasuren hældes over kagen.
